A Pocket for Corduroy by Don Freeman
Lisa and her mother are doing the laundry at the Laundromat. Lisa tells Corduroy to sit on a chair while she helps her mom. Corduroy sees Lisa searching through her pockets and he realizes that he doesn’t have a pocket. He goes looking for something to make a pocket and becomes lost and left behind. The next day Lisa comes back to retrieve him and bring him home. She then makes a pocket for him.
