Using the speed dating lesson model, engage your students in a class party designed for learning. As a great culminating activity or introducing the many different reformers of the period, host a "Progressive" dinner party in your classroom with major Progressive Era reformers as your guests. Students sign up for one of 42 Progressive Era reformers (evenly split between male and female) listed and create a resume highlighting their reform-based career. A template resume is included as well as a sample resume to help guide students. Teacher directions provide detailed notes on how to set up the party as well as how to rotate reformers during the party along with topical questions to provide student groups.
Product includes: teacher directions; reformer sign-up list; student directions; rubric; resume template; resume sample; and dinner party data retrieval chart.
Note: This lesson does require student research of their reformer as well as preparation time by the teacher to set up the "dinner party."
