Product Description
Next Generation Science Standard (NGSS) for Grade 2- “Structure and Properties of Matter” addressed in this packet:
2-PS1-1:Plan and conduct an investigation to describe and classify different kinds of materials by their observable properties.

Your students will love this science experiment! I use this lesson plan as a part of my matter unit. I give my students a challenge: can you blow up a balloon without using your mouth? With chemistry you can! I discuss solids, liquids, and gases with my students and then we do this science experiment which combines a solid with a liquid to form a gas. Materials you will need: vinegar, baking soda, water bottle, 12” balloon, funnel or wooden stick. Directions, photo, and student worksheet included. A quick, little science activity that makes learning science fun!

Please note: this unit is for the use of one educator.
