**In Color & In Black and White**
This is a reading log that you can use for homework or a way to record or track reading during silent/independent reading. It contains a homework reading log (Monday-Thursday, containing a slot for a parent signature). When I taught third grade I used a reading log as part of my weekly homework packet. Students were assigned 20 minutes of reading per night, requiring a parent signature. I found this as a effective way to assure my students were reading each night. This packet also contains a reading log that can be used in the classroom during silent/independent reading time (Monday-Friday). This form requires no signature.
**But there's a twist!
This reading log has an after-reading choice board included. After students read for their required time, they can choose 1 of 20 activities to do with their book (this product has some of the same ideas in my task card reading activity (http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/20-Things-to-Do-With-a-Book-When-Theyre-Done-Reading-744385), but in a choice board format for easy copying. Finally there is a recording sheet for the homework log and a recording sheet for the silent/independent reading log.
I have provided a black and white and color copy for your convenience.
This is a resource you can use over and over again!
