This collection is a basic resource kit that is editable and may be combined with existing units of your own. I have included a number of items that I found helpful in my own classroom to teach students to write effective resumes. Some of the sample resumes can serve as models in some aspects; all can be examined for effectiveness independently or in teams, and can be used as a template by typing over the existing information and tweaking fonts, spacing, and alignment. Students do not need to know a lot about formatting to make these changes. All resumes were adapted from actual resumes previous students have written.
The resource kit includes the following.
• A 13 slide PowerPoint that provides tips for writing an effective resume and reference sheet
• 4 resumes and 4 references for students to critique and/or use as a template
• A judging sheet to guide students in examining the effectiveness of each candidates resume and reference
All resources are editable. Feel free to adapt them to the needs of your own students and for use with your existing units
