This is a Reader's Theater script based on the children's book, A Silly Snowy Day by Michael Coleman.
Reader's theater and repeated reading is an excellent tool for building fluency and provides a opportunity for performance reading. This reader's theater is designed for 8 different readers and would be ideal for a small group guided reading activity. This book is a guided reading (Fountas & Pinnell) level 17 (approx. Grades 1-3)
Teaching Tip: Before reading the Reader's Theater, it may be best to read the picture book version to students.
Coleman, M. (1996). THe silly snowy day. New York, NY: Scholastic, Inc.
To build fluency through repeated reading, make enough copies of the script for each student, assign parts and read orally.
