PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This file contains all of the things that you will need to get your students thinking of others this holiday season. With this file, the students are asked write a letter to Santa asking that he bring something for someone else. The students are asked to choose one person or several people from their family and explain to Santa what he should bring others and why they deserve these gifts. This activity could also be modified to be a persuasive writing to persuade Santa to bring these items.
The file contains four different graphic organizers (in color and in black line) that will allow for your students to plan their writing. One graphic organizer outlines the letter writing for a single person, and the other outlines the letter writing for several people. The other two graphic organizers are in a 4-square format. One 4-square is outlined for a single person, while the other is set up for multiple people. Each organizer allows for the students to choose gifts for other people and then explain why Santa should bring them the gift.
This file also contains lined letter paper that sets up the letter writing for the students. The letter paper has a Santa design. One letter format has the letter all on one page and the other format allows for your letter writing to be on several pages.
I have also created an adapted writing paper for beginning writers. The page has the students choose a gift, person, and then write why that person should get the gift. This paper is a perfect differentiated option for this writing activity.
There are also larger Santa pictures that can be displayed with the writing. You can print them in color or in black line and then the students can color them. The Santa has a box beside of him so the students can either make up their own title, or you can use the Santa that already has "Please bring ___________ for ___________." and have the students fill in the box. Either is a cute decoration for the hallway or a bulletin board display.

The following is a list of all materials that are included in both color and black line:
Letter writing graphic organizer for one person
Letter writing graphic for multiple people
Letter writing 4-square for one person
Letter writing 4-square for multiple people
Letter writing page on one sheet
Letter writing page on 2 sheets
Extra sheet of plain writing paper
Beginning Writer page/Adapted page
Santa display page with letter in the box
Santa display page with “Please bring ______ for ______ .” in the box
Santa display with an empty box

My students have really enjoyed this activity over the past several years and I hope that your students will enjoy it as well! I hope that you enjoy this Angry Teacher Creation!
