This children’s song from Peru is in Quechua, the native language used in the Incan empire and spoken widely throughout South America before the arrival of Europeans. In the song, one child calls out to a girl in a red skirt and says “I’m gonna tell on you”. The word “yaw” means, “hey”, “puka” means “red” and pollera or polleracha is the word for skirt. The download includes an mp3 recording as well as a lyric sheet for the song.
