Product Description
Students enjoy writing Shakespearean sonnets that reach back into the 13th Century and still relate to topics they enjoy today.

HIT HERE FOR VIDEO DESCRIPTION OF THIS PRODUCT

They enjoy parts of a sonnet by clapping iambics with a peer, and listing rhyming sonnet words about their topic spring, and its unique angle.

Students discover how sonnets follow a unique rhyming scheme, called iambic pentameter.

They are guided to master a sonnet’s unique content requirement by praising a thing or person in their lives. Students especially enjoy how sonnets take a shift or turn that surprises, delights or offers a silly view of their topic.

They start with the sonnet rhyme scheme to write about spring and end with an entry into a class publication of sonnets. They play with images and design illustrations together with peers.

Sonnet writing materials here include differentiated opportunities to both write and publish for different developmental literacy stages.

Hopefully these ready-to-roll brain-based materials will benefit your learners and leaders as they do mine at middle, secondary, university levels and beyond.
