“Yo tengo / ¿Quién tiene?” is a great game to get your students speaking in Spanish while reinforcing thematic vocabulary! This activity works well as a bell ringer, but you can use it at any point during your lesson to keep your students engaged and working in the target language!
This particular set of “Yo tengo / ¿Quién tiene?” cards is designed to accompany a thematic lesson on the environment. You’ll want to introduce your students to some basic environmental vocabulary before playing this game with them.
This set contains 28 cards with words related to the environment. As each student asks "¿Quién tiene...?", everyone must check to see if they have the corresponding card. If so, it is their turn to announce the word they have and ask the next question. If the class completes the activity correctly, you will loop through all 28 cards and end up back at the start.
For a bit of extra motivation, you can time your students! They love to race to see if they can beat their previous record or finish faster than another class!
I have included three versions of the cards for you to choose from: color, black & white, and a simplified black & white version to save on ink. You can pick the one that best fits your printing capabilities and preferences. Each set contains 7 pages, with 4 cards per page, for a total of 28 cards! I've also included a direction page that explains how to use these cards in more detail.
Reinforce vocabulary, assess your students' comprehension of cultural content, develop speaking and listening skills, and most importantly, have fun!
