Once upon a time there was a bird named Rodney who was afraid to sing his song because he didn’t sound like the other birds. Rodney’s story can help students appreciate their own talents as well those of their classmates. By cooperating with each other they will see how much they can accomplish together.
This lesson plan was created to accompany our video "A Story About A Bird," which is available to stream at no charge on YouTube
and the Montague Workshop Facebook page
Brad Montague is a writer, director, and father who believes if kids and grown-ups work together, they can change the world. He is the creator of Kid President—the popular web series featured on SoulPancake’s YouTube channel—which he developed after being inspired by the young world changers at an annual summer program he and his wife, Kristi, founded. The two of them, together, make up Montague Workshop, working to cultivate empathy and imagination in kids and former kids through the power of stories.
