This is a characterization activity designed to engage your students while reading and after reading "A Study in Scarlet" by Sherlock Holmes. Students will assume the identity of a specific character and annotate while reading. Students will find direct and indirect characterization, motif, symbol, tone, figurative language, or point of view. During the tea party, students will ask five constructed questions to their classmates in character. Students will turn in their annotations to you. I provide hot tea and have students dress up for extra credit.
