This ATOTC pick-a-project requires students to think critically and creatively. Students have a choice of 5 projects: dueling political/propaganda cartoons, artwork in medium of choice, illustrated poetry, photo gallery, or scene adaptation for film or stage.
This product includes notes for the teacher regarding assigning the project and grading, as well as an evaluation form to be used for the grading of the projects. Grade is based on First impression, Completion of Requirements, Quality of Project, Insight, Effort, and Creativity.
The project is especially effective with AP and honors students but could be used in classrooms with students of varying skill levels.
Project time: Assign, review, and brainstorm=1 day; 2-3 days in class over the course of two weeks; 1-2 days to present and evaluate; most of the project should be finished outside of class over the course of about 1-3 weeks, per your preference.
Variation: The project could be assigned to pairs instead of individually.
