Is it Prime or Composite?
Here is a simple test to determine if a number is prime
or composite!
Students will be given a simple test to test if a number is prime or composite. I use this test to help my students learn properties of composite numbers as well as prime numbers.
The test and the steps to test each number
A recording sheet that students will record as they test each number
16 numbers to test
16 QR codes which reveal if the number is prime and composite. The QR code also explains why it is prime or composite (which part of the test that the number falls into)
This activity is SO much easier then teaching divisibility rules, since some of those can be rather hard to explain, but it is the basic concept in this activity. You can also see this activity in action on my blog:
