Product Description
A Thanksgiving Feast introduces eight different foods that might appear at a Thanksgiving feast: turkey, dressing, pumpkin pie, bread and butter, green beans, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce and corn. It starts with a full color and black and white version of the book A Thanksgiving Feast, which is an original book based on an old children’s song about Thanksgiving foods. It also includes activities for descriptive and creative writing, graphing , distinguishing "or" and "ur", and long and short “i” discrimination. There are read, write, color and draw pages which can be used separately or can be put together into a My Thanksgiving Feast Book for each student to read, write, color and illustrate. I have included a book cover if you should choose to use the pages in book form. For each food, you will find three pages. The first page has a short paragraph about the food. The print is gray and traceable so the students can trace and practice handwriting while they read about the foods. There is a box at the bottom of the page for the students to draw their own picture of the food. The second page is a black line picture of the food for the students to color. They can also add background to show the Thanksgiving setting. The third page includes picture of the food to color plus blank lines so the students can write their own sentences. I have also included two different blank writing pages, so students can draw their own pictures and write stories to go with their illustrations. I hope A Thanksgiving Feast becomes a useful part of your classroom. Thank you for purchasing this yummy little unit. Richi Reynolds 2013
