Have you heard of Problem Based Learning? Is your school adapting its teaching methods to incorporate this higher-level thinking model? Mine is. I have developed a project to use at the time of Thanksgiving, and if you need a project, this one is ready to go!
This is a thanksgiving project incorporating social studies standards while using Problem Based Learning. Many of our social studies standards are similar when it comes to Thanksgiving. Even if you are not from AZ, it will be easy to find the standards that this meets. It includes everything you need to implement a PBL project, including:
-information on Problem Based Learning and Higher Level Thinking, including graphics
-an Essential Elements checklist to be used in planning stages
-graphics for understanding and planning purposes
-notes home to Mom and Dad
-standards that will be met
-instructions on how to plan a lesson
-examples of formative assessments with printables for ease of use
-examples of summative assessments
If you are new to PBL, and need help and a time saver, or if you just need a Thanksgiving project that goes above and beyond making a turkey out of your hand, this is for you!
Check out the Thanksgiving bundle that includes this product and a ppt of how Plymouth has changed through the years. It's only $1.50 more!
