Pg. 11-13 Helping Verbs – copy pages A and B back to back - fold on the solid line and cut on the dotted lines – flip up the flap to write a sentence – use the nouns on the flap in a sentence with the correct form of a helping verb – write it in either a past or present form depending on how it is labeled on the flap
Pg. 14-16 Text and Graphic Features – copy pages A and B back to back – fold on the solid lines – cut on the dotted lines - add the page number and the feature – flip up the flap to add the purpose

Pg. 29-33 The Best Kind of Tree – a persuasive writing and craft project – persuade your reader as to which type of tree is the best kind of tree – copy the trunk onto brown or gray construction paper – there are two choices of tree trunks- one is easier to cut out – glue it to the top of a large construction paper – add ripped pieces of tissue paper for the leaves – you can make the tree light green for spring, dark green for summer, or colorful for fall, or add cotton balls for snow – you can also add fruit or flowers – I rolled the red tissue paper into tight balls for the fruit – write and persuade your reader as to what the best kind of tree is
