This packet contains an activity about the Water Cycle. It enables the student to follow a drop of water through the various parts of the cycle. The student will not just investigate the traditional steps of evaporation, condensation and precipitation. Included in the activity are various stations of Animal, Plant, River, Ocean, Ground Water, Soil, Lake, Clouds and Glaciers.
The activity allows the students to get up and move to the various stations. They will learn what can happen to a water drop as it travels through the cycle. At the end, they will become more aware of the complexity of the Water Cycle.
As a wrap-up, the students can make poster cards about their travels or write a letter. The details will depend on the age of the student. I have used this activity successfully with students in grades 8 through 12.
