A Turtle’s Pace - Fluency Pacing Resource was designed to be used in conjunction with the iPhone/iPad/android AlphaTots app, but can be used just as easily as a stand-alone resource without the app. Not only can this resource be used for fluency, but also for teaching language skills including sentence structure, 26 different verbs, and ability to use questions to make a request to perform an action. When used in conjunction with the AlphaTots app you also address basic literacy skills including alphabet letter and sound recognition.
A Turtle’s Pace is based on the premise of teaching fluency through the production of speech at a controlled rate in conjunction with a controlled level of complexity with the use of phrasing. Turtle themed sentence strips are provided with sentences or questions that coordinate with the interactive tasks performed within the AlphaTots app.

*26 five-word sentences with a visual pacing cue for each word.
*26 eight-word sentences with visual pacing cues for producing four, two-word phrases within a sentence.
*26 eight-word sentences using visual pacing cues for grouping words to produce three phrases per sentence.
*26 five-word questions with a visual pacing cue for each word.
*26 eight-word questions with visual pacing cues for producing four, two-word phrases within a question.
*26 eight-word questions using visual pacing cues for grouping words to produce three phrases per question.
