This project is perfect for a beginning of the year activity in which students get to know each other and review familiar vocabulary and questions.
How to start: Print the “Interview with a classmate” sheet for each student. Read questions as a class and translate unfamiliar words if needed.
Ask students to find a partner whom they would like to interview (you can use popsicle sticks with students’ names to match) or pair students how you wish. Students work in partners asking each other questions and writing down information.
Extension of activity: Students can present to the class information they collected about their classmate.
Differentiation: The first page of questions is easy; the second page contains some more difficult questions and can be used in upper grades and/or for native speakers and high flyers. Both pages of questions are translated into English
