This is a reader's theater written for 3 students, one boy and two girls. You could modify the names if you needed to add another boy. The theme is Valentines Day. The object of the story is to give some background information to the students about the origins of Valentines Day. At the beginning of the script, one of the students is already ready and the other two can't believe how many people she is going to give valentines to. They get into a discussion about why people give valentines and where it all began. I use these Reader's Theaters to help my improve my students fluency. It helps to motivate them to practice reading out loud. The reason I use small groups are that students get more time reading and less time waiting for their turn which reduces off task behavior. My scrips are mostly in black and white which makes them easier to photocopy and takes less ink. My name is Melanie Whitesides but my store name is Wonbyone and I hope that you enjoy the script. Please let me know how it goes!
