In this activity, students use the internet to visit Lascaux Cave in southwestern France. The cave is well-known for its spectacular cave paintings from the Paleolithic Era. The paintings, mostly of large animals, are thought to be over 17,300 years old.
Students will go into the caves for a virtual tour. They will be able to explore the paintings from different perspectives as if they were in the cave. They will learn about the history of the cave and its art. Included is a worksheet with questions for students to find answers to and an answer key.
