4 in a Row is based off of the popular "Connect Four" game. Teach it once and it becomes a favorite of students during Word Work or centers time. It provides students with the repetition necessary to learning vowel sounds and patterns. My students love the game!
All you need is one game board and counters per two students. The first student to get four words in a row or diagonal is the winner.
I have included the short and long vowels as well as /ight/, /oo/, /oa/, /oi, oy/, /ou, ow/ and /y/.
