A Wrinkle in Time Literary Activities
Included in this resource are: plot, setting, characters, with detailed explanations and examples from other books, themes, connections and reflections Students create visualizations and write descriptions of each of them. A letter writing activity encourages students to pose questions they might ask the author or about a character, the plot or setting. For deeper understanding they might choose to pose a question about a conflict and its resolution in the story.
My ready to print student worksheets are designed to encourage students to become actively engaged readers through conversation and collaboration with their peers in small groups.
Brainstorming and determining the best answers in small groups, as students cite information from the book, creates an atmosphere of higher level thinking. Analyzing text, as they build on each others' responses, and articulating their own ideas, also helps students become self directed learners.
After students have brainstormed in small groups, to determine the best answers, it's suggested their answers be reviewed with the whole group, so they will have a deeper understanding of the story
The worksheets can also be used as class or homework assignments.
If used as informal assessments it will help determine students’ strengths and weaknesses.
