Thank you R.J. Palacio for writing Wonder, one of the best adolescent books ever, because it’s jam-packed full of both academic and life lessons. In my humble, but experienced opinion, every middle school student should have the opportunity to read, own, digest, and gnaw on all the contents in this spectacular book.
It is up to all the teachers and parents out there to help each child have the aforementioned experience with Wonder. As both a reading and English teacher for years, I felt I had the obligation of providing material which made the most of each precious page in Wonder, and at the same time keep the flow and enjoyment of this wonderfully woven story moving. Hopefully, I’ve done justice to R.J. Palacio’s critically acclaimed masterpiece.
