This product contains 65 cards (5x7 index card sized) of the most commonly used root words that every student should know.
Students must interact with the roots by drawing a picture that represents the definition of the root word (I have added two of the pictures already as a starting point)
Then the students are given common words with that root. Students need to define each word in their own words using their knowledge of the root word. For example: Biennial. Now that they know that "Enni" means year and they know that "bi" means two, students can surmise that Biennial means twice a year.
This activity really seemed to help my kids because I don't think they had ever stopped to think, "Hey I can break words apart to figure out what they mean!"
