Use this sheet to enhance student engagement while viewing video. Have students write words that begin with the letter in each letter box.
Possible game: At the end of the video give a point for every unique and defensible answer in each box. For example in box “A” if 19 kids wrote “apple” and one student wrote “Athens”, the “Athens” answer would score (as long as they could explain why the wrote Athens in the context of the video). Award prizes to the top scores!
This can turn a 20 minute video into a 45 minute lesson in which every student in the room gets a chance to speak and defend their work. It also happens to be a lot of fun.
