An Alphabet Letter and a Word in ASL
American Sign Language (ASL) is the official language for the deaf in America and in many other countries as well. It is NOT a translation of any other language, but it is indeed its own language with a unique set of concept signs and syntax rules. For the purpose of this lesson, students will learn to recognize the letter in ASL and then a word that begins with that letter.
It’s so much fun! And making the letters and words with the hands is a terrific way to connect the letters and sounds to some of the words that they help make.
