This reading comprehension passage is two pages of reading and includes student tasks of finding details, drawing a picture, generating questions, and answering questions. It also has a link to a picture gallery that goes with the story. This is Chapter 2D, the final chapter in the Alaska series. The passages are about a reluctant teenager named Julian. In part 2D, Julian and his grandma finish their travels in Alaska and see many interesting things such as bison, glaciers, and whales. This passage is for beginning readers, struggling readers, reluctant readers and ELL learners. It is highly accessible text written primarily for older struggling readers, but it will work for grades 3 and up. It is a fun way to combine reading strategies with a link to an online picture gallery to help bring the story to life. It also makes a great Literacy Center activity. The next series is coming soon. Join Julian and his grandma as they head off to California!
