A is for Ants is an independent lesson; however, it could be grouped with the other letters for an ABC scrapbook. Both of my daughters at the age of four have made their own ABC books. I have also used this with much success with my kindergarten students. For the letter “A” we sang songs about ants, counted, moved our bodies, used art and science vocabulary, created picnic ants, and told stories. This one day lesson includes: Common Core (math and language arts) and National Core Art Standards (visual arts) addressed/assessed, tips, vocabulary, material list, skill set list, assessment scale, accommodations (high and low), child’s example, song list, and directions on the project. Your students will be moving, grooving, and creating ants with this fun lesson.
