This is a great game with a little movement to get those wiggles out and practice letter names or sounds. Students take turns picking cards and saying the letter name or sound, but look out, there are alligators in there. If someone picks the alligator card everyone must stand up and stomp their feet, say alligator, alligator, alligator!
How to Play:
Print out the game. (I like to print my games on card stock so they last longer.)
Cut out the game cards.
Place the cards in a pile.
Have each student take turns drawing a card, and saying the letter name or sound, whichever you are focusing on.
If they get an alligator card, all students must jump up stomp their feet and shout alligator, alligator, alligator, and sit back down quickly.
CELEBRATE! Because they are reading!
