Get ready for the lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer with this fun activity that can be used in a variety of ways. Children will learn to recognize upper and/or lower case letters and think about the initial sound the letters make. They will think of a word that begins with each letter that has to do with Summer, for example "s is for sun" or "f is for fireworks". They will write the word and draw a picture to go with it. Great to use with alphabet books in a center for small groups, individually for early finishers or an extra challenge, or in a large group as a way to introduce or close a topic! A fun way to increase vocabulary and meet CCSS!
