I have found that this powerpoint presentation is a great introduction to the study of evolution and Darwin's theory. It gives students an idea of what Darwin saw on his voyage. It also could be used as an introduction to a study of animals as many of the animals pictured are new for students. I took these pictures while visiting the Galapagos Islands in 2002. The presentation consists of 29 slides. There are of the landscape of the island and the animals and plants found there. The last slide is a writing assignment for students in which they pretend they are visiting the Galapagos for the first time and are writing about their experiences. Included with the powerpoint presentation is another document with notes for the teacher, these include information about each slide. I have also included links to websites with information on the Galapagos and the animals found there.
