Most of us use our GPS to plan our route to unfamiliar places. We type in our current location, get step-by-step directions and track our progress. As we head into a new IEP year, we need similar directions to plan our student’s route in communication development. At the IEP we need to accurately identify where the student is now (present level of performance), where they came from (demonstrate progress) and to develop a map for their destination (sequential goals).
