Teaching students to ask and answer 'where' questions, using AAC, can be difficult. This book provides practice using AAC methods for a child to learn how to ask ‘where’ and state positional concept responses. The book provides opportunities for the individual to learn and practice using 10 spatial concepts. You may also incorporate teaching colors while using these materials.
Addresses: asking questions, answering questions, using 10 spatial concepts, labeling colors
If your student has an AAC book/board/device, have the device available for use while reading the book. If your student does not have a symbol set, they may use the included symbols with you providing the voice for their words.
Read a page asking the provided questions to elicit responses.
The student should respond to both questions using his/her AAC system or the images on the page.
After the student has responded to both questions, give the interactive image to the
student to place in the book, asking them, “What color bear/water balloon did you find.”
The student should use their device to respond with the color name.
