Product Description
Teach your nonverbal students to read using these easy-to-follow lessons. This is the third in a series of Reading with AAC lessons for teachers, speech-language pathologists, paraprofessionals and parents. Lesson 3 has 5 words: want, help, out, you, me. Included are word cards for sight reading, letter cards for making words, photos depicting words to teach meaning, and individual lesson guides for each word with clear instructions and hints for teaching the word. You also get mini-books to teach the words that provide practice reading the word in context. Suggestions for using the iPad with these lessons are also provided. This has been designed to help you support the literacy skills of your students using AAC. Use these lessons in conjunction with your student's speech generating device or low tech core communication board and alphabet board. Great for literacy center activities and daily reading instruction.

These lessons include activities for sound awareness and word making, as determined necessary for learning to read by the National Reading Panel. Don't want to use up your color ink? Download the file to your iPad and open in iBooks. This gives your students with physical disabilities access to the materials.

You can print off the packet and store it in a 3 ring binder. Printing the cards, stories, and pictures on card stock and laminating will increase durability. Included in the packet are pictures showing how to store these items for ease of use.
