Product Description
Do you LOVE to use play but need engaging communication boards to support expressive and receptive language for your students? These AAC play-based communication boards are both fun and functional and allow you to integrate visuals to support language with specific activities that you will find in most special ed, early intervention and SLP settings: Trains & Dollhouses. The aim of these boards is to cater for different skill levels, which is why 3 different types of boards per activity are included (22, 32 and 36 icon boards).

NOTE: This product is part of my $$ saving Play-based AAC Board BUNDLE.

While they are great to use in a 1:1 setting, using with groups of children with ASD, language delays, global development delays and even apraxia can be easily facilitated. With the inclusion of 9 different choice strips, you can also start at a really basic level of ‘my turn-your turn’ and advance from there. Another way to use the choice strips is to accompany the communication boards, so there is great flexibility and a certain individuality in how you use these.

The play-based communication boards all contain a mixture of vocabulary including: nouns, verbs, adjectives, prepositions, pronouns, social comments and questions. Having such a range of vocabulary will hopefully give you some more ideas for play as you integrate the language. This can pave the way for combining vocabulary into 2-4 word sentences (or more). I have included word lists of how to expand from 1 word so that you have a list at your fingertips and can continue to develop your student's language skills.

An extra page is provided so that they can be cut individually and used as Velcro based choice boards to start at a more basic level and teach concepts separately before you build up to the use of the boards.

CONTENTS
• 3x communication boards for Trains (22 icons, 32 icons, 36 icons).
• 3x communication boards for Dollhouses (22 icons, 32 icons, 36 icons).
• 2x boards of ALL pictures to cut up and use with choice board strips.
• 9x choice board strips, with an emphasis on core vocabulary.
• Language expansion word lists for each activity to help move beyond single words.
