This is a Rec & Leisure lesson for one of my AAC classrooms (middle/early high school). The students are emergent communicators, most of whom are using LAMP. The goal is to get them to engage with each other and the lesson. They attend better to videos and need frequent opportunities to request, direct actions, and practice.
Included are video models of similarly aged peers engaging in dancing. Additionally, there is a video model using an AAC device, which is EBP when teaching students on the spectrum, especially students who need high level of support. It also covers socially appropriate behavior - asking to hold hands using non-verbals, accepting if someone does not want to hold your hand, and giving space.
