This is a matching game that can be played in a small group for a literacy center. The students are matching flip flops, so it would be ideal for a Summer, Beach, or Ocean Unit.
I made the flip flops so you can use the game three different ways. Students can match capital letter to capital letter, capital letter to lower-case letter, or capital letter to picture using the beginning sounds. This is a great way to engage students that are all on different levels. I teach lower-income students, and I have found that a lot of them need practice with capital letters, and matching capital to lower-case is too difficult for them. This activity really helped those lower students learn some letters and feel successful at the same time.
