Alphabetical Order Templates© are an effective tool for independent, standards-based practice of alphabetizing skills in 1st through 4th grade.
The templates are designed in three formats: for 12 words, for 18 words, and for 27 words. For each format there is a word sheet and a student form—students cut apart the words on the word sheet, arrange the words in alphabetical order, and then glue them to the student form.
Once students learn how to use these templates, this independent activity can be assigned with increasingly more difficult content. You may need to teach a more advanced alphabetizing skill, but you won’t need to reteach students how to do the alphabetizing template!
Directions and suggestions are included with these free templates.
