What to Do:
1.) Spread out all of the letter/bug cards face up on the carpet or table
2.) Put picture cards face down in a pile
3.) First student picks a card, finds the letter that matches the beginning sound and swats it with a fly swatter.
4.) If it is the correct letter-sound match he can take the letter and picture card match. If it is incorrect he puts the picture card at the bottom of the pile and passes the swatter to the next player.
5.) Continue finding the matches until all the bugs have been swatted.
6.) Record your matches on the recording sheet.
Standard: CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RF.K.3a Demonstrate basic knowledge of one-to-one letter-sound correspondences by producing the primary sound or many of the most frequent sounds for each consonant.
