This is a set of totally cute lowercase alphabet rebus representations which can be both utilized for whole group phonics routines as well as for small group instruction. This set can also be laminated and used as a wall frieze display to assist students in making connections to alphabetic-sound awareness relationships.
The matching student flash cards can be purchased here:
The frieze cards can be attached via a metal ring clip at the top center or side of the set.A book binding machine could also be used as an alternate option to quickly flip through the set as you instruct students.
Students can either focus on letter sounds ID/discrimination or letter name ID as the cards are "flashed" either in order or randomly to ensure or assess student mastery. The cards can also be arranged by letter features such as: letters with "sticks", letters with "balls" , letter with 'humps" or "tunnels".
I can personally attest to students quickly "memorizing" the sounds and letter attributes because of a daily routine that included just 5 minutes of us singing, chanting, signing and using movement to the tune of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". My littles become so excited that they can quickly see the results of letter mastery.
Please be mindful that this set ONLY INCLUDES THE LARGE SET OF B/W CARDS. This is NOT A BUNDLED set. Also some of the letter representations ARE NOT PHONETICALLY correct. They do possess blends and digraphs/trigraphs. This is due to the clip art set which I selected, however this can be a learning opportunity as it becomes a teachable moment as students progress in their phonemic awareness/phonics skills.
