ABC & Sight Word Readers is a great activity for both preschool and kindergarten. Students will learn letter and sound association as well as simple sight words. Each reader could be considered an “A” level. It is perfect for students that are still working on letter sounds, but are ready for simple sight words. I used this book in 4K when I would introduce a letter (it is also great for advanced 4k students that are ready for a challenge). Now that I am teaching kindergarten, I used it for letter sounds, and remedial work. Each letter has six pages of fun pictures that match the words (x has 3). They also have quick check pages to check for letter and sound recognition and letter writing.
Suggestions for Use: Sight words are listed for each letter below. I usually give the students a highlighter and have the boys and girls search through the books for the pictures that start with the letter or for a particular sight word.
Sight words used in readers: I, see, a, is, can, have, an, look, at, the, where, this, like, my, you, do
