Practice ABCs ~ Practice ABC Order ~ ABCs ~ ABC Order ~ Learn ABCs ~ Alphabet ~ Fun Activities
Looking for more activities to help your students learn their ABCs
? This might just be what you're looking for!
If you think about the alphabet as a rainbow, with A at the beginning and Z at the end, it can help you visualize where each letter is placed within the alphabet. It can also help you visualize the relationships between the letters. For example, letter C is between B and D. Or letter M comes after L and before N.
I taught English to blind and visually impaired students in Korea. Many of my students also had intellectual disabilities and needed extra activities to learn the alphabet, including knowing the order of the alphabet and each letter.
I had a friend who teaches dyslexic students and shared with me the idea of the rainbow mat
. The rainbow mat is wonderful to help students know and understand the placement of each letter within the alphabet. I introduced it to my students, and they loved it. I began thinking of other activities and games to use the mat.
Included in this packet

These also work great with my ABC Mix and Match Word Wall Cards
and ABC Puzzle Cards
These are also a part of my ABC Big Bundle
which includes the ABC Rainbow Connection, the ABC Mix and Match Word Wall Cards, and the ABC Puzzle Cards.
I often show a picture from my Word Wall set, and they choose the letter of the alphabet that the picture starts with.
