Thank you for having a look at my Math Fact Booklet.
Why choose mine?
It was created by a teacher, trialed by many teachers and has been refined. It also is linked to the Year 2 curriculum and it is skill specific!
I hope this booklet saves you time, mental wellbeing, tracks data/accountability and keeps you organised like it did for me.
I have designed these activities around the Australian ACARA and C2C curriculum for Year Two. I found that ACARA and C2C did not have enough daily mental computation practise. My school is pushing warm-ups and I found these to be very useful as a starting point in our daily Math Block. Other teachers used my booklets for Home Work and Group work.
Each day targets a particular mental computation strategy for numeracy. They are a mix of revision mental compensation strategies from Year one and mental computation strategies for Year Two.
Topics covered are:
- Rainbow Facts and their extensions
- Adding and taking away 1, 2, and 10
- Doubles, Doubles +1, Doubles +2 and their extensions
- Halves and their extensions
- Introduction of Multiplication
- Comparing numbers
Theses worksheets have been a hit in the Year Two classrooms from a Teacher, Parent and Student’s perspective. My children had a blast using these!
The children start off with 10 questions per day increasing to 20 questions at the end of the year. They are done individually and then marked together. I have my children use a highlighter to tick correct answers and then they highlight an incorrect answer.
