This is a simple and flexible solution to motivating your students to achieve AR Goals. The students paste it in their journal and set their weekly or monthly goals. They love it !!!
I include various options for point increments and tracking, based on grade level and reading goals. They are very visual!! It is so easy for students to keep track of and understand their AR progress. Inside of each small book, the student write the number of questions he/she answered correctly, and one partner writes their initials to confirm it. They enjoy it !!
The option with the bigger book is for the students to write the book title.
I check them at least once a week, but, the kids are always proud of showing it to me. In addition, I give them all kinds of rewards. This is the best way to motivate them to read.
You can put them in their goals folder too.
Choose the one that fits better for each student.
The writing self-checklist helps me each time that students say - I finished!! It is very visual so young children learn to revise and edit their writing. Very Powerful.
I provide a poster (bigger) of the checklist too.
I give one laminated to the student, and I refer to the poster every time they say: I finished!!
