We know that writing skills improve over time through guided practice and feedback. This writing assignment allows your students to practice writing an ACT persuasive essay in a safe, low-stress environment--your classroom--before they arrive at this high-stakes test. Included is a practice ACT persuasive writing prompt on the topic of cyberbullying. Students are provided with a definition of cyberbulling, as well as an outline of the problem using statistics. Students are prompted to take a stance and write a T-chart to organize their ideas before writing. Also included is an outline of required elements of the essay, including introduction, three body paragraphs with developed reasons, a refutation of the counterargument, and a conclusion.
