Machine Learning Posters
- Decision Tree: works by adding decision logic at each node (point/circle). If a data point passes it goes down one path otherwise it will head down the other path. When it hits the end or a "leaf" a category or value is assigned to the tested data.
- K Nearest Neighbors: A k value is chosen which is usually an odd number. A new data point is compared to a list of old data points who's desired classification is known. The data point is compared to the K number of closest or nearest data points. The average of these data points is used to classify the new data point (if 2/3 of its neighbors are red then the new data point is classified as red)
- Neural Network: The coolest named machine learning algorithm is actually just a giant times table. Each circle/node is a multiplication value, the results travel along the lines and are added up to form a new value to be multiplied with the next circle/node. At the very end (on the far right), the circle/node with the highest value wins and its classification is assigned to the new data point.
