This resource packet contains18 versions for students to analyze text. Choose the style that works for you! Six to choose from. Give students variety in analyzing the text. Start with a simple version and work your way up to a more complex.
The packet begins on page 4 with a general science & social science textbook analysis.
Pages 5-15 alternate science & social science with different versions of text analysis.
Chunk it up, on page 16, gives the student power verbs to use in summarizing and explaining the text.
Pages 17 & 18 give you two different options for assigning vocabulary. These work well as front back worksheets or can be given to the student as a reference guide as to how they well be attacking assigned textbook sections from you.
Page 19 is a wonderful resource called annotation guide for reading copied text. This helps students interact with copied text or articles that you assign. It will give students consistency interacting with the text they are reading, while stream lining the process for you. Plus 2 new templates for interpreting what the author is saying and how he/she is saying it!
