This wonderfully creative activity is such a hit with students that it doesn't feel like work. Breathe new life into your AP assessments, which can easily get monotonous.
The premise is simple: students write and illustrate a children's book based on an artist, content area, theme, time period, or culture of their choice. This resource includes a detailed description of each part of the assignment, a planning guide for students, a list of tips and tricks for writing for children, a list of needed materials, and a tailored, student-friendly rubric.
This activity works great as a post-exam activity but could easily be used as a summative unit assessment (not a boring test!), or even as an extended sub plan.
